Any donations given are tax deductible. In the U.S. alone, more than half a million people aged 65 and older will develop Alzheimer’s in the year 2015. Right now, more than 5.3 million Americans are living with this disease. This disease, which is the 6th leading cause of death in the country, robs individuals of their cognitive function and memory. As the American population becomes older, the amount of people suffering from this disease continues to rise. According to the Alzheimer’s Association, Every 67 seconds someone in the U.S. develops the disease.

“You can make a huge difference by participating in Walk to End Alzheimer’s®,” said CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association Southeast Florida Chapter, Ann May. “Funds raised will provide care and support services to the 150,000 residents of South Florida living with Alzheimer’s, while also contributing to advancing critically-needed research.”

Whether you know someone who is suffering from this disease or not, participation in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s will provide the Alzheimer’s Association with much needed funds to carry on their research and programs. Check in for the walk begins at 7 a.m. with opening ceremonies scheduled for 8 a.m. The 1.5 mile walk will begin at 8:30 a.m. Check in will be held at Mizner Park Amphitheater located at 590 Plaza Real, Boca Raton, FL, 33432.
