Experience the fun, excitement, and culture of Brazil on Brazilian Independence Day. This lively festival will take place on Saturday September 12th from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. The event is a part of the “Meet me on the promenade” series and promises to be an exciting occasion for the entire family to enjoy. The event is one of South Florida’s annual Brazil Independence Day Celebrations and will be held at Sanborn Square 72, N. Federal Hwy, Boca Raton.
Slated for the event is a full collection of activities which will include a Zumba showcase, Capoeira dancers, Samba drums, Brazilian food, street dancing, musical guests, and a Rio-style parade. The featured bands that will be performing include Alma Tropicalia and Batuke Samba Funk. Take the whole family along and learn a little more about the wonderful culture of Brazil. There will be authentic Brazilian food available to widen your taste palate and broaden your perspective.
About The Bands
The bands that will be performing include Alma Tropicalia which is a band based out of Washington, DC. The rock band reinvents the samba psychedelic sounds of the 60s along with a soul funk beat that is sure to have everyone dancing. Batuke Samba Funk is an electrifying Brazilian band that combines Soul, R&B, and Afro Samba for a groovy and high energy performance.
Free Event & Free Parking
There is no cost to attend the event and it is completely open to the public. Live music and street entertainment will be featured and the festivities will carry on late into the night and wrapping up one hour before midnight. There will be free parking available in City Hall which is located at 201 West Palmetto Park Road. There will also be free parking available at the Downtown Library located at 400 Northwest Boca Raton Boulevard as well as at other downtown locations.
