Insurance – This section applies if you have included an insurance product that we insure, insure, manage or res sell, you request, modify or enforce your rights or include in your product, service or account. We may collect, use, disclose and retain your data, including health-related information. We may collect this information from you or from healthcare professionals, related medical organizations, insurance companies, government agencies, organizations that maintain public information databases or insurance information bureaus, including MIB Group, Inc. and the Insurance Bureau of Canada. Banking Information and Other Lenders – For a credit card, line of credit, loan, mortgage or other credit facility, merchant services or a deposit account with overdraft protection, holding and/or payment or transaction limit, we exchange information and reports about you with credit reporting bureaus and other lenders at the time and during the application process. and to continuously check your creditworthiness, set credit and holding limits, assist us in collecting a debt or enforce an obligation you have owed us, and/or manage and assess our risks. You can choose that we do not conduct a credit check to assess a credit application. Once you have such an institution or product with us and for a reasonable period of time thereafter, we may, from time to time, share your data with other lenders and credit bureaus that request such information, which helps to identify your credit history and support lending and processing functions in general. We may obtain information and reports about you from Equifax Canada Inc., Trans Union of Canada, Inc. or another credit information service. You can access your personal data contained in their files and correct them by www.consumer.equifax.ca them directly via their respective websites and by contacting them www.transunion.ca. Once you have requested a credit product from us, you cannot revoke your consent to this exchange of information.
In this Agreement, the terms “you” and “your” refer to any person or authorized representative of such person who has requested or offered product services or accounts in Canada. The words “we”, “us” and “our” mean TD Bank Group (“TD”). TD includes Toronto-Dominion Bank and its global subsidiaries that offer deposits, investments, loans, securities, trusts, insurance and other products or services. The word “information” means personal, financial and other details about you that you provide to us and that we receive from others outside of TD, including through the products and services you use. Our privacy statement explains how we collect, use and disclose your personal data and describes your ways of revoking or refusing your consent. For more information, please also see our privacy code. You can find other privacy terms for your product or service in the privacy agreement provided to you with that product or service. If we collect your health data for the purposes described above, it is not transmitted as part of TD unless a TD company insures, insures, manages or sells the corresponding coverage and disclosure is necessary for the purposes described above.
Your data, including health-related information, may be transmitted for these purposes to administrators, service providers, potential reinsurers and insurers and reinsurers of our insurance operations, as well as their administrators and service providers.
